I love it. when doing a journey I do it through streetview before hand so i can recognise, buildings landmarks and easily remember were to go. I also check were my babies are going to live.. yes i am nosey lol. xx
Every new technology has two sides to it, good and bad. It is true that there are both types of implications of this new Google feature. This is an invasion of privacy is a true fact. But from another angle if we analyze this Google street could be great in locating people, houses during a natural calamity. With Regards... Saptarshi Ghosh, Importance of one way links
My 11 year old daughter found her school on google street and there were kids playing in the field...including a clear picture of her. It kinda gave me the creeps that children and schools were on there.
Interesting viewpoint Kelly! I suppose its the same with mobile phones too...or even the internet, that first came in the 1950´s I think... on a very limited version.. no Facebook back then!
I can see why people think its dangerous, but I suppose it all depends on what you use it for and how old the pics are. Its like anything on the internet. Most of the applications are old army technology that has been given to the public after like 30 years of it being available to the military, who knows what other applications "The Man" has
I must say ,that there is so many beautiful and not beautiful places in the earth,,,and I can´t trawell to see them ,,but in google earth it is possible. But I don´t remember to use it...
Have you been in Niagra,it´s fantastic,,,and Matchu Bitchu ,and in Gröland ,Island,India,Finland, and Vantaa ...I have also seen Nicky Creations ,,,greetings to you all! It´s so fine to "trawell" to Peru and Thailand and ....ou jees ,,,many places are in earth.
You right about the privacy...it can also be a problem.
I love Google Street View, but i have to say that I have to say that I dont like the fact that you dont know how old the pictures are. Imagine if some thieves wanted to break into a house, they can see what the house is like, access etc, from a safe distance witha cup of coffee, and plan their robbery... That aint good, but like Ida says, its pretty awesome for "travelling" around cities and stuff!
Its like anything on the web though, if you abuse it, its not good!
We have in Finland Google Earth.....now also street wiew. When it come,,there was some pictures some naked man,,in her teras, after the sauna...and he was in wiew ,,There was much of writings in our head magazine,,and google can take away people pictures when you contact them.Mostly there is not people, but also them .
Ok,I like it,,it´s fantastic way to "yrawell",,or if you like to know ,how some your friend is living...a little curious(all people are som how....)you can see her house ,just like you are walking in street .
But ,,my first trip was to Paris ,and I wanted to see Eiffel touer near...and I saw all people there and all steps..fantastic!!!!
Then I travelled to see pyramids in Egypt,,Grand canion ,Alps,Manhattan,Disneyland...and all places where I had been,,Rohdos,Teneriffa,Fuengirola,,an all was there.
It´s fantastic.....James ,,did you know that in google earth you can go to the moon ,too..................................................................................................................(**)
I live in the States and I have to say that I understand the problem with privacy etc...but on the other hand, its a great way of looking whats going on elsewhere You can see what kind of area someone lives in, you can see what a street is like that you might move into... so I think in reason its ok.
The problem is that there is nobody to police it, so where does reasonable stop and freaky begin!?!
