Colliii.com: Hello Tatjana, you are one of the most few well known Reborn doll artists in Russia, tell us a little about yourself.

Tatjana: Hello, I live in Moscow with my two children. I have always loved dolls especially the ball  jointed dolls. I remember the first time I saw the Reborn dolls in the internet I knew that this new aspect of the doll world was something that I wanted to get into. I wanted to learn how to Reborn properly, and as there were no courses in Russia, I flew to Germany in 2008 to do a doll course and have been making dolls ever since then.

Colliii.com: Some find particular aspects of Reborning hard and thats why they do courses. What aspects of the art do you find hard? How do you create your realistic babies?

Tatjana: I work from home and always take time so that I can put in the most I can for each baby. I want to offer doll collectors the best so I need the best products too. I always use high quality Mohair and I use a combination of granules and pellets to fill and weight the dolls. I dont name myn babies because I think its better for the collectors to name them themselves...its more personal that way! If I am honest I find the eyebrow rooting difficult, but I take my time which means that I can always get it right.

Colliii.com: Where do you get your products, is there a lot on sale in Russia?

Tatjana: I use the Genesis heat set paints. I have to buy all of the products in Germany as there are no suppliers in Russia.

Colliii.com: Which sculptors kits do you like the best?

Tatjana: I really love the kits from Evelina Wosnjuk. The details that she recreates are fantastic. I am currently doing a kit from Reva Schick (Arianna) which is nice because she is a very big baby. When I was at the Mosfair I met Birgit Gutzwiller. Her silicon babies are also beautifull.

Colliii.com: How do the Russians like the Reborn dolls?

Tatjana: It varies, I suppose like everywhere in the world really. When I was in Berlin I was holding a Reborn doll in my arms and the passport control wanted to see the passprt for my baby! When they realised what it was the thought it was funny and started to play with the doll!

Colliii.com: Thats a great compliment for you dolls! Where can other people buy your dolls?

Tatjana: You can find them over my website: www.zornreborn.ru

Colliii.com: Do you still go to exhibitions and doll shows?

Tatjana: Yes I go to shows and present and sell my dolls there too. I have just been to a show in Moscow. I will also be at the Doll Time show where I will exhibit with my friend Galina Gaisina.

Colliii.com: Do you give courses now?

Tatjana: Unfortunatly I dont have enough time to offer them, but when people ask then I find it hard to say no!

Colliii.com: Well wish certainly wish you all the best for the new year and thanks for the interview.
