How do you feel about the politcal correctness in the Colorado play centres?

Do you think children need to play with dolls from different races? We would love to hear your comments....

If you look closely, you will see that the details on the dolls are the same EXCEPT for skintone.  So the doll was not enhanced in anyway to make it "prettier".  Polictical correctness never matter when you seem to be the one getting the praise.  I wonder how would you feel if the children were white and they picked the "black doll"?  Our children are exposed to white images everywhere.  Stories, movies all have the beautiful princess as white.  (yes Disney has a black princess-one!)  It is not hard to see that children would think white is right.  To answer the question, YES,CHILDREN SHOULD BE EXPOSED TO DOLLS OF DIFFERENT RACES!   Teach them that all people are beautiful because we all are.

I just think that the people are exposed to things that they see as being normal...like the fact that kids think McDonalds is good for heavens sake! If they hear it and see it enough they dont think about it anymore...The same is true for the poor kids that end up saying that Black babies are not as nice as white ones...because that is what large parts of society has taught them!
Dont you think so?

I find it intriguing that you dumped a whole section of society together and called them the "McDonalds generation" Don't you think that it's this kind of stereotyping that causes these kids to think like they do.

Its the McDonalds generation. They are spoon fed what to think in a way that if the parents actually sat up and thought for 2 minutes would be repellent... Poor brainwashed next generation Yell

I find in general that younger children are much more accepting of differences, they don't tend to notice or care about races or disabilities.

I found the last little girl on the video heart breaking to watchCry to pick out the coloured doll as "bad" and then to choose it as the doll most like her makes you wonder what kind of signals these children are picking up from the world around them.

Dolls are a terrific teaching tool with children. Adding dolls of diverse ethnic representations will teach tolerance and social skills that are important in todays global society. Perhaps the questions really is, "Is there any valid reason not to?"

Recognition of diverse populations and tastes in dolls is one of the reasons that we offer our products in a wide array of fleshtone colors. We believe that encouraging that cultural diversity is important for doll artists.

Making kids try to believe that everbody is equal is stupid. The more you harp on about people being equal the more people (the kids) will realise that thats just not the case.

I think its a nice idea to make children "More aware" but I dont think that the video "evidence" has got much to say about it...Maybe the doll just look nicer!

I think politial correctness is ridiculous in its self. Its a nice idea to "Make aware" but the bottom line is that it is often done in an inbalanced way
