Hi Joy, I am in Wellington (just moved here from Napier), it is a shame we don't have classes - I think Lara may have considered coming over here to take a class if there were enough people, but unfortunately everyone is spread around the country...
James - I would guess around 25 reborn artists in New Zealand, all from beginners to top artists. I have heard of doll shows in Auckland and Tauranga and perhaps Christchurch but I think only one or two reborn artists sell at these shows which are held once a year.
James, we usually have about 30 pre class, with myself and 5 moderators asking questions. For larger calsses, like my Newborn Class, we had 8 moderators helping out. Carmen, who helped at teh workshop, is one of my moderators online, as well.
Hello Poppy I am from New Zealand also I live in the South Island and have been reborning for 5+years I am self taught and just love this art It is a shame we don't have classes and guilds where we can earn certificates like they do in other countries cheers Joy
I live in New Zealand and as we don't have any reborning classes here, I was thrilled when I came across Lara's online classes and e-books. Her classes go into so much detail and are so easy to follow and fun to do - I love how we are always learning new techniques and the contests at the end of each class gives us something to strive for. I recommend the classes and e-books to anyone who wishes to learn more about reborning, they are fantastic
I have online classes about once per month. This month we are doing a fairy class. We are using a fairy kit, but we are also teaching how to sculpt fairy ears to make any kit into a fairy! Next month is an advanced Peaches and Cream. Most of the kits we use for classes are available for a discount at dollsbysandie.com, but you are always allowed to use any kit for the class. Also, all previous classes are available on Ebook form. Most books are 150-200 pages. My next workshop is next week in Langston, Alabama. Some of the gals from Sandies workshop will be there, so I'm really looking forward to seeing them again!
It was an amazing workshop! We had a lot of fun and fellowship while I taught some new techniques that I use in my online classes at realreborncom. This was a beginner workshop, but by the end of the 2 days, all the babies I saw were just amazing! Sandie was an incredible host, and Carmen was a huge help! I hope to do many workshops and Sandie's, and I know that each one will be better than the last!
If anyone wants more information on my upcoming workshops or online classes, please see my website realreborn.net
Thank you to everyone who attended! Hope to see you all again soon!
Hello! Yes i was at the class that Dolls By Sandie had. It was an awesome class. Sandie, Lara and Carmen were so helpful and taught me things i was unsure of how to do. I got to meet some friends and ladies that i have talked to but have never met. If i didnt know what i was doing i could count on one of them three ladies to show me how to do it. It was very nice of Sandie to have the doll class at her home and welcome us ladies there. If i could go to another doll show and afford to go and they were having one i definately would go there again. Thank you ladies, you were awesome!

That sounds great! Love the idea about Fairy classes, how many people do you normally get?
